PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Susan Barg is a licensed massage therapist in Illinois and Iowa, a Chavuttidhara Instructor with Barefoot Hands, and a Certified Ashiatsu Instructor with DeepFeet Bar Therapy. Based in Galena, Illinois, she has practiced since 2010 and specializes in barefoot bodywork, Sarga bodywork, Ashiatsu, and Bamboo-Fusion.

After completing the 750-hour massage therapy program at Cortiva Institute in Chicago, Susan built her practice around gravity-assisted methods that provide broad, consistent pressure while reducing strain on the therapist. Her instruction emphasizes control, body mechanics, client comfort, and practical application.

Susan has earned gold medals in Ashiatsu, Eastern Freestyle, and the overall Iowa State Massage Championship, a silver medal in the Asian Inspired category at the Euro Massage Championships in Paris, and a bronze medal at the Canadian Massage Championships. Her achievements led to an invitation to compete at the World Massage Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

She has also served as a massage championship judge and co-director. Susan offers private, remote, and onsite training for therapists seeking practical, sustainable barefoot bodywork skills.
